This odd-looking contraption is a radio. A digital radio, to be precise, which allows you to pause, rewind and record live radio broadcasts. It's called the Bug and is on display at the Domayne store in Alexandria as part of a digital radio centre showcase put together by Commercial Radio Australia. "The leap in sound quality and features from AM/FM analog radio to digital radio is comparable to the change when TV went from black and white to colour," said Joan Warner, chief executive of Commercial Radio Australia. The Bug features a small screen for displaying information relevant to the broadcast, such as song title, artist and sports results, and can record programs onto Secure Digital memory cards for playback.
